Prof. Yao Lin (‘Jianhu’ lecture prof. of Shaoxing University)
University of Connecticut
Yao Lin is an Associate Professor of Chemistry Department and Polymer Program at the Institute of Materials Science at University of Connecticut. He received his Ph.D. in Polymer Science and Engineering from University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 2005. After completing his George W. Beadle postdoctoral fellowship at the Argonne National Laboratory and the University of Chicago in the field of biosciences and chemistry, he joined the UConn faculty in late 2008. He has published over 20 journal papers on Science, JACS, Chem Commun, Macromol, etc.

化学化工学院国际学术交流周——研究生系列讲座(二)
Course: Advanced Characterization for Materials
Lecture: Advances Progress in Modern Materials Chemistry
Prof. Mu-ping Nieh
University of Connecticut
Dr. Nieh’s research mainly focuses on the studies of soft materials (including phospholipids, polymers, surfactants) through structural characterization to understand the chemical physics of the systems in interest, which has important potential for practical applications. The common method employed by the group is scattering such as neutron, X-ray and light scattering. He has published over 40 journal papers on Biomembrane, Chem Commun, Langmiur, etc.
